The Emergency Medicine inpatient ward consists of 7 beds with the possibility of multiparametric monitoring, oxygen therapy (HFNC), non-invasive mechanical ventilation (NIV).

- Heart failure
- Sepsis
- Respiratory failure
- Pneumonia
- Complicated infection of the urinary tract and soft tissues
Services provided
In Emergency Medicine – Ordinary Hospital – the following functions are carried out:
- Monitoring and stabilization of the acute phase of non-critical clinical conditions
- Diagnosis and therapy for patients not immediately identifiable in a specialized sense
- Diagnostic-therapeutic activities for problems likely to be resolved within 48-72 hours
For patients who are diagnosed with diseases that can be classified as specialist and who need further investigations or treatment, they will then be transferred to the Acute Inpatient Departments of the Polyclinic, to Specialist Departments and/or to Accredited Affiliated facilities.
Outpatient activity
An Emergency Medicine clinic is active for post-hospital check-ups (Monday and Thursday from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm)
Teaching activity
The UOS is part of the training network for specialization schools in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine-Emergency of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart with tutoring activities.
