The UOS performs care and research activities, dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of digestive diseases (esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, ano-rectum, pancreas, liver, and biliary tract) with a focus on chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (MICI, Crohn’s Disease, and Ulcerative Rectocolitis).

- Administration of advanced therapies (biologics/small molecules) for patients with MICI

- Outpatient area: general gastroenterology outpatient clinic; specialty outpatient clinic chronic inflammatory bowel disease; advanced therapies (biologics/small molecules) outpatient clinic chronic inflammatory bowel disease; PROFIT trial clinic with access to experimental therapies
- Diagnostic ultrasound: outpatient ultrasound clinic dedicated to the digestive tract
Scientific research activities
Dr. Daniela Pugliese is a Research Fellow in Internal Medicine at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Rome and conducts research with specific interest in Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. She is also a member of the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society for the Study of
Chronic Inflammatory Intestinal Diseases (IG-IBD).
