The Dentistry UOS is a Division of Hospital Stomatology, established in 1868. The service has intermittently continued to provide services to the present day and is a reference center for minimally invasive odontostomatologic surgery.
The Operating Unit is divided into specialized branches:
- Surgery and implantology
- Conservative and endodontics
- Prosthodontics
- Orthodontics
- Oral hygiene
Access to the service requires an initial visit, which can be in agreement with the SSR.
The Service has a private orthopantomograph for internal use.
Pathologies treated
- Surgery for extraction of included teeth, removal of benign neoformations of the jaws and oral cavity, reconstruction of the jaws with minimally invasive technique and under local anesthesia
- Mobile and fixed orthodontic treatments and disinclusion of included teeth
- Fixed and mobile prosthetics
- Implant-prosthetics
- Conservative and endodontic treatments
- Oral hygiene and periodontal treatments
Four operating rooms are currently available:
- The Operating Unit is home to a clinical Masterclass in Minimally Invasive Dental Surgery
- Six Assistant Chairside Attendants (ASOs) work in the Operating Unit, coordinated by referrer Marco Petruzzo who reports to the Chief of Surgery
- ASOs are unique figure in Roman Hospitals, specializing in all-round dental assitance, very well established in dental clinics and throughout the dental field. To them is due part of the credit for the efficiency of Our Operating Unit
- The dental administrative one-stop shop, currently with 2 units handling with the central CUP, over 25000 appointments a year
