Hospital – Gemelli Isola has recently acquired the new Esaote S-scan EXP Magnetic Resonance (MR) tomograph, a latest generation machine with a permanent magnet with a vertical magnetic field. An instrument characterized by an “open” configuration that has numerous benefits for the patient and specially made for the joints, such as hand, wrist, elbow, shoulder, forefoot, ankle, knee, hip and spine, capable of providing excellent joint imaging.
The open magnet at the level of the head and sides transforms the experience of patients who suffer from claustrophobia, and who must sometimes be sedated pharmacologically, making this machine particularly suitable for the study of children. Additional benefits are guaranteed by the open design of the machine with facilitated patient access and the large and comfortable patient table.
With the open S-Scan EXP FBF Gemelli-Isola MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), it increases its offer of high-efficiency diagnostic performance, thanks to the presence of machinery such as the high-performance 1.5 T MRI and the new 3T MRI being installed, which will be available to users from September 2023.
