The event “Technological evolution in diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology” was held today, in the presence of the Minister of Health, Orazio Schillaci. State of the art and prospects”.
The conference, organized by Prof. Ettore Squillaci, was attended by President Paolo Nusiner and General Director Daniele Piacentini. It is one of the first events focused on a reflection that concerns training, research, innovation and personal care, real pillars of the path to excellence of the Fatebenefratelli Isola Tiberina Hospital – Gemelli Isola.
As part of the conference, the renewal of the radiodiagnostics department was announced with new cutting-edge technologies – a 3 Tesla Resonance and two new CT scans – and a more efficient path for patients, thanks to a new organization of spaces. Radiodiagnostics is, in fact, one of the areas of greatest development within the path of relaunch and development of the Hospital, whose objective is to ensure high clinical quality.
Today we are close to a frontier of innovation in medicine and patient care. The advancement of technologies, combined with the increasingly widespread and effective use of artificial intelligence systems and simulation environments, open up new possibilities in the use of technologies in the process of care and interaction with patients, which will allow us to achieve better and faster results from a clinical and scientific point of view, “says Daniele Piacentini, General Director of the Fatebenefratelli Isola Tiberina Gemelli Isola Hospital, “To continue to ensure together with the high clinical quality the ability to take care, with humanity, of the people we assist, it will be important to start professional training and patient education interventions as soon as possible and to innovate not only in technology, but also in the delivery models of care.
When Gemelli Isola presented the relaunch project, we wanted to make this structure a pole of excellence that combined three functions: research, training and technological innovation at the service of the person. With these objectives, the Holy See has decided to invest significant economic, professional and intellectual resources in the operation to relaunch this hospital” declares the President of FBF Gemelli Isola, Paolo Nusiner “A few months after the launch of the operation supported by SIT (Società Isola Tiberina), we have already started an intense work aimed at enhancing the historical care vocation of Fatebenefratelli and the heritage of clinical, educational and research skills of Policlinico Gemelli and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the Catholic University Gastrointestinal and Endocrine-Metabolic
Diseases; Woman and Nascent Child; Vision Disorders; Radiation and Medical Oncology and Radiology; Knee and Hip Prosthetics and Traumatology and Diagnostics and Cardiological Therapy. These are the 6 Centres of Excellence that will be activated as part of the relaunch process that aims to transform the Tiberina Island Hospital into a point of excellence for regional and national health.
